In September, some of our team members recently took part in the Virtual Dementia Tour training. This training took each person into the shoes of someone who has dementia.
Training2care and their mobile van visited our home and took 8 team members from each Doveleigh Care home into the shoes of someone living with dementia.
The training definitely made a difference to our team members and how they view dementia and people living with it.
With vision altering glasses, gloves, headphones on and spiky in-soles into their shoes, they experienced the difficulties of dementia in everyday life.
They learnt dementia specific facts and research which will help improve their care of dementia residents and to understand what they are going through.
A big thank you to training2care for a great training day and well done to all our staff who took part and completed the training.
