Dove Lodge – 16th June 2025
Dove Lodge was our first home of the week to have their open day, and they kicked it off nicely with a very entertaining day.
Dove Lodge manager, Angela, hosted their first veteran breakfast club for local veterans to visit. Doveleigh Care Director and Veteran, Keith Mills, joined them for breakfast.
After that, we had Tiny Hooves (Shetland Ponies) visit. Residents and visitors enjoyed petting the pony and learning different facts about them.
The Exmouth Town Crier joined and announced the Open Day. Then lunch was served – a brilliant buffet style lunch was served to residents and visitors.
Afterwards, Zara King performed and got us singing along.
We had tours throughout the day for people interested in the home and for career opportunities.
Doveridge – 18th June 2025
Doveridge held their open day on the Wednesday, which was enjoyed by all residents and visitors.
They had lovely sunshine, so the residents and visitors sat out in the garden to watch Zara King perform. Zara had us up dancing and singing along to lots of different songs.
The cook then made and set out a great buffet lunch, with scones and cakes for afterwards.
Once we were fuelled up again, Miniature Munchkins arrived with their Shetland Pony for the residents and visitors to see.
Arcot House – 19th June 2025
It was Arcot House’s turn next on the Thursday, which began with a performance from Scott Philips. Scott got us up dancing, singing and tapping our feet along to songs and tunes on the guitar.
We were lucky again with the weather which meant afterwards, the cook had a BBQ outside for the residents and visitors to enjoy.
Once residents and visitors were full, we gathered in the lovely refurbished garden to wait for the arrival of the Birds of Prey.
Birds of Prey visited with three owls for residents and visitors to hold (with protective gloves on).
Lots of the residents were brave and held the owls whilst asking questions about the birds to the team from Birds of Prey.
Dove Court – 20th June 2025
Dove Court had their open day on the Friday, with a Music Quiz and cream tea for residents, loved ones and visitors to enjoy in the morning.
After a great success with the quiz and a ‘Finish that lyric’ round, it was lunch time.
In the afternoon Zara King performed for us outside in the marquee. It was a lovely sunny day, so we made the most of being sat outside with the fabulous view in the background!

It was a great success for all our homes and we would like to thank the Home Managers, Support Workers, Activity Support Workers, Housekeepers, Cooks and Maintenance Team for all their hard work with the lead up to their Open Day and throughout.
Many thanks to our guests and performers who helped make the days so special!
