Promotion at Arcot House!
We are delighted to announce Stacie McGrory’s promotion to Assistant Manager. We would like to congratulate Stacie on her well-earned promotion and wish her every success in her new position.
Art therapy
This continues to be a favourite pastime. Hands and hearts have been some of the topics covered this month.
Birthday
Jo celebrated her birthday with her Keyworker. A wonderful evening was planned for Jo to watch her favourite Opera ‘Carmen’. The evening was such as a success a “La Traviata” by Verdi is planned for her 3 year anniversary of living at Arcot House.
COVID Vaccinations
Topsy receiving her first COVID vaccination this month as part of the Government vaccine programme. At 108 years old, we believe Topsy to be the oldest person in the UK to have received a COVID vaccination.
Jelly drops
These special sweets are designed to boost hydration intake. Our residents enjoyed sampling the different flavours of the fun and healthy snack.
Christmas festivities at Arcot House!
Christmas was in full swing at Arcot House during December. Our art group sessions made a fabulous new door sign for the Art Therapy room.
Christmas Jumper day at Arcot House
Our Residents and staff got dressed up in their finest festive jumpers for Christmas Jumper day.
Arcot House Christmas Cake Baking!
Brandy wasn’t the only spirit in full flow at Arcot this week. Residents were in high spirits preparing the Christmas cake. Residents had smiles all round as they took social distanced turns to stir the yummy cake mixture. Residents said, ‘ Do we have enough brandy?’ and ‘ I love making Christmas cake’.
Arcot House rated Outstanding again!
CQC recently rated Arcot House in Sidmouth to be Outstanding in all 5 domains of inspection for the second time, which makes it the first and only residential care home in the country to achieve this incredible feat!
