Christmas festivities at Arcot House!

Christmas was in full swing at Arcot House during December.  Our art group sessions made a fabulous new door sign for the Art Therapy room.

December was a busy month preparing for Christmas.  Shirley inspected our new minibus which features Shirley and other residents and staff in a  group photo taken on the beach.

Doveridge celebrates Peggy’s 90th Birthday!

Peggy celebrated her 90th birthday with a white chocolate and berry birthday cake washed down with her favourite drink… a cup of tea. Peggy enjoyed receiving phone calls from her family and spent time reminiscing about her youth while eating lots of chocolate washed down with …..another cup of tea.

22nd National Care Awards

Our General Manager, Amy Burt, has won the Area Manager of the Year category in the 22nd National Care Awards 2020. Amy is the General Manager at Doveleigh Care Limited.

She was nominated for the Area Manager of the Year Award.

Amy said: “I am honoured to have received this incredible award. I would like to thank Keith Mills for nominating me for this prestigious category”.

In addition, another of our managers, Samantha Evens, has won the Care Home Manager of the Year category in the same National Care Awards 2020. Samantha is the Registered
Manager at Arcot House and Dove Court.

She was nominated for the Care Home Manager of the Year Award. Sam said: “To be up for this prestigious award is down to having such amazing teams who work together and valuing people”.

Winners of the National Care Awards were announced at the virtual awards held on Wednesday, 25th November at the Hilton London Metropole attended by over 600 guests.

Caring Times reflects the opinions of the social care sector, focusing on news affecting the private, public and not-for-profit providers of nursing and residential care. Doveridge Celebrates Joyce’s 90th!

Here things look a little fowl as our turkey looks suspiciously like a pumpkin which the residents and activity team creatively turned into a tasty treat for all.

Christmas Memories and Traditions at Dove Court!

Everyone had a lot of fun having a turn with the wooden spoon when the Christmas cake was being made. Lots of reminiscing of past Christmases and traditions were shared. There was more than a helping of love added to the mix this year. We can’t wait to have a slice on Christmas day.

Arcot House Christmas Cake Baking!

Brandy wasn’t the only spirit in full flow at Arcot this week. Residents were in high spirits preparing the Christmas cake. Residents had smiles all round as they took social distanced turns to stir the yummy cake mixture. Residents said, ‘ Do we have enough brandy?’ and ‘ I love making Christmas cake’.
